REVIEW

This Story was very easy to fall in love with...it can be read as a standalone but it also continues some of the story told in Falling into You.

We first met Jason and Becca in Falling into You, this book gives you their story. After Nell blows off Jason and convinces him to ask out Becca, her best friend we get to see exactly how their relationship goes after that. It really started off shaky because really who wants to be another person’s second choice?

Jason is one of the cool guys in high school...not your typical idea of a jock yes he is sexy and is  the #1 high school wide receiver in the state, but he also he makes good grades…... he appears to have it all but unfortunately that's just on the surface.. Jason Has so very deep issues at home that no one knows about.

Becca is one of those smart, shy, sweet, beautiful but doesn’t know it girls. She absolutely has NO social life aside of Nell because her parents are super overprotective. She's beyond smart taking college classes, playing the piano her schedule often leaves her with no choice but to do the right thing. She has a problem with stuttering so secretly, she writes poetry to elegantly get things out of her head that she can’t normally say.

After their first date which was incredibly rough considering the circumstances it didn’t take long for these two to fall deeply in love...they are still in high school but it doesn’t take them long to see how special the other one is. They actually help one other through the problems each of them faces. This story follows these lovebirds through high school and college. There is plenty of heartache along the way but never from each other. They manage to support each other and still be happy through it all. This book had my emotions all over the place, maybe more so than Falling into You!!

I HONESTLY didn’t think that Jasinda Wilder could make me feel the way she did a second time but she really outdid herself. I love that this book told both stories but didn’t really overlap, just gave us some insight on Nell and Colt and how their story ends!!!

Review:

When I started this book I had NO idea what to expect, see I am one of those judge a book by its cover type people, and I never bothered to read the synopsis…….all I can say is WOW!!

Blake is a smart mouthed almost bitchy girl that has a very broken past that keep her from having more than 2 friends. After reading all that she has been through I completely understand her attitude toward other people.

Blake’s closest friend and roommate is Dean, I love this friendship! These two are honest and caring and honestly share an incredible bond. Dean is the kind of guy you want in your life, he genuinely cares without any expectation of things going further, he really just wants the best for Blake.

Not only are Blake and Dean roommates they also work in a bar called Frankie’s, it is here where she first meets HIM!!!

“He's tall, lean, and the most attractive man I've ever seen” (Blake)

Derrick is A successful CEO of a nearby Casino is in town for a seminar, he walks into the bar where Blake works and immediately has an effect on Blake like no one else ever has.  The two mix like oil and water at their first meeting, and Blake was super happy to see him go. But was this just a one time chance meeting??!!??

Dean’s friend Landon comes to town and spends the day with Dean and Blake, from the beginning there is spark between the two but Blake’s unwillingness to let her guard down does not deter Landon.

Blake has put up walls around herself in order to keep her past at bay. Her past has a hold on her that she can't seem to let go of, Dean has been her rock, can she learn to trust Derrick and/or Landon?

Blake does decide to take a chance unfortunately there are a few twists and turns along the way to finally get to happiness.

I want to laugh until I cry, be carefree without hesitation, love like there is no tomorrow, survive a heartbreak and know that I will have the strength to love again.(Blake)

Throughout this book I became emotionally invested, I wanted them to all come out happy in the end unfortunately only one guy can have Blake and you’ll have to read the book to see what she decides. I cannot wait to read the next book to see how the rest of the story unfolds!

Author Bio:
 With the exception of three years spent in the middle of Nebraska, H.B. Heinzer has called southern Wisconsin home. During that time in Nebraska, she imagined one of her favorite authors living on the far western edge of the county, just south of the highway. At the time, becoming a novelist was a distant dream for her. Now, she is the author living in that location. Ironically, she later found out that same favorite author lives just outside the town HB lived in for the first eighteen years of her life. Now, HB lives in the middle of nowhere but still close enough to the city to not feel isolated. It's the perfect place to let her two kids run and explore their huge yard, teach them about the food chain as they prepare their first-ever garden and debate building a chicken coop. REVIEW:

I loved the relationship between Nate and Emi. I was cheering for them and hoping everything would work out for them throughout the book. This book was  such a sweet, sad, wonderful, romantic story with so many ups and downs. I honestly wanted to shake Emi and Nate at some points and tell them to wake up, I had a hard time not understanding WHY  they couldn’t see what was in front of them!!! I seriously didn't know what I was getting myself into when I began reading this book, it totally surprise me, I couldn’t put it down! I thought I knew what was going to happen so many times, and then I would get knocked off my feet and find I was completely wrong. I never saw the ending coming...I still don't want to believe it.

I give Afflicted 5 Big Stars!!

I loved Battlescars, but I really, really LOVED Afflicted!!I love that we got to follow the same characters through both books. There were many times I wanted to slap Piper upside the head. I caught myself saying out loud Bitch please.....just make up your mind already it is not a hard choice Douche Nozzle or Hot Rock Star Duh.....I love Granny Jean she is Amazing she makes me do a happy dance!!
